This technology transmits electricity from the onshore grid to offshore oilfields through high-voltage submarine cables for oil and gas development and production. It reduces offshore oilfields’ reliance on fuel-fired generator sets, lowers carbon emissions, and supports the transition to greener, lower-carbon operations.
